The 2024 Shanghai International Arbitration Center Arbitrators and Mediators Conference (Hong Kong) was successfully held in Hong Kong on October 24. The conference attracted over 80 arbitrators and mediators from 17 countries and regions around the world to participate and jointly discuss key topics such as efficiency, fairness, and openness in international arbitration. Attorney Jin Bingyi, Director of Shanghai Runyi Law Firm, was invited to participate in this conference.

Ma Jun, Vice President of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Shanghai Branch and Vice Director of the Shanghai International Arbitration Center, emphasized in his opening speech the important role of the Shanghai International Arbitration Center in promoting the professionalized and internationalized development of arbitration in China. He mentioned that the number of international arbitration cases at the Shanghai International Arbitration Center has grown steadily, case management standards have continuously improved, the arbitration rule system is fully aligned with international practices, the diversity of arbitrators and mediators has been continuously enriched, and international exchange and cooperation have been deepened.

This conference is the first time the Shanghai International Arbitration Center has held an arbitrators and mediators conference overseas. It aims to build a platform for exchange and dialogue between domestic and foreign arbitrators and mediators, gather wisdom from Chinese and international arbitration, optimize case management processes and arbitration rule systems, serve the cross-border trade and investment needs of domestic and foreign enterprises, and continuously enhance Shanghai arbitration's cross-border service capabilities and international market competitiveness.

The successful holding of the 2024 Shanghai International Arbitration Center Arbitrators and Mediators Conference (Hong Kong) not only strengthened exchange and cooperation among the global arbitration community, but also laid a solid foundation for the Shanghai International Arbitration Center to build itself into a first-class arbitration institution with international influence in the Asia-Pacific region.
