On September 29, 2024, the Shanghai Bar Association announced that Des Voeux Chambers in Hong Kong will host an International Arbitration Cross-Examination Skills Training Camp and a Chambers Internship Program, offering 20 valuable slots to Shanghai lawyers. This program aims to enhance lawyers' professional skills in the field of international arbitration and strengthen their capacity to resolve cross-border commercial disputes. Against the backdrop of global economic integration, international arbitration has become a crucial means of resolving cross-border commercial disputes. Leveraging its profound expertise and extensive experience in international arbitration, Des Voeux Chambers will conduct this training camp and internship program in Hong Kong from October 26 to November 1, 2024, to meet the growing demand for specialized international arbitration professionals.

Partner Xi Zhengyu of Shanghai Runyi Law Firm participated in this training camp. The curriculum covered various aspects of international arbitration, including arbitration hearings, preparation of witness evidence, interim measures, and the powers of arbitrators, as well as practical sessions such as group case studies and mock arbitrations. The Chambers Internship Program offered hands-on opportunities to observe courtroom advocacy, attend client meetings, conduct legal research, and draft legal documents.
